(J.I.C.(43) 518 (0) (Final)) BRIGADIER SUGDEN said he thought the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee had under-estimated the threat. In his opinion, the position of Germany vis-a-vis Turkey was somewhat similar to ours vis-a-vis Spain in the campaign in North Africa; but whereas that threat had receded with our success, he hoped that the threat to Germany would go on increasing.
