"Crossbow". Second Report by J.I.C.

1 Nov 1943

Rate of progress of ski sites. 5. At one site, which has the unusual feature of being rail served, all the civil engineering appears to have been practically completed in about 2½ months. This confirms the estimate that such a rate of construction is feasible but there is not yet sufficient evidence of it being general. It is now known that at two or three sites the civil engineering work is complete or very nearly approaching completion, and it has been reported that one other site was completed by 1st November, the original target date.
