ANNEX OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE FAR EAST GENERAL Obtaining Intelligence regarding the Far Eastern theatres of war has always been most difficult, not only because of the differences of race and language and the vastness of the area, but also because of the prior claims of the European theatre in respect of skilled personnel and special means of transport. A. SPECIAL SEA TRANSPORT 2. Shortage of special Sea transport has been one of the main obstacles preventing the collection of intelligence in the Far East.
