QUESTION 4. What will be the probable enemy reaction to the establishment of a British fighter force of some six squadrons on airfields at Gazi Emir, Cumasvasi, Milas and Cardak for an indefinite period. This assessment should include an estimate of the probable scale of attack on Turkey in general and on the S.W. Anatolian airfields in particular. ANSWER 5. (a) Germany. Germany is at present having the utmost difficulty in holding the Russian offensive, she is engaged in a considerable campaign in Italy and she has her hands full in the Balkans.
