A N N E X MOST SECRET CIPHER TELEGRAM FROM: AIR MINISTRY. TO: FREEDOM, ALGIERS. OZ 3082. IMMEDIATE 6th October, 1943. From J.I.C. for G.2 for J.I.C. Your 794 dated 29th September, 1943, to British C.O.S. 2. No essential differences between your view and War Office but we presume you agree that Germans have no intention of being involved in decisive battle in Central Italy. 3. Following on air situation:Para. 8 gives impression that, while small scale offensive by close support units was at end of September being maintained in battle area, nothing of note was occurring elsewhere in Italy.
