Operations through Moulmein and Kra Isthmus Report by J.I.C.

1 Aug 1943

Air Opposition 8 Of the 300 aircraft likely to be in the Burma Siam nch Indo-China Malaya Sumatra Zone, 120 would probably be made immediately available to resist the proposed operations, rising to 150 aircraft in about 48 hours. It is unlikely that any further reinforcements could be spared. While strength, particularly at the beginning of the operations, will fluctuate as a result of wastage, it is likely to be maintained at the above figure over a period. Serviceability is estimated at 60% for the first 48 hours dropping to 50% by the third day.
