8. The total first line strength of the Turkish Air Force to-day is 265 modern and 210 obsolete aircraft. There can be no question of Turkey putting into the Dodecanese an air force adequate for defence against determined Allied attacks. They could, however, provide a small token force. TIME REQUIRED TO TRANSPORT TURKISH FORCES 9. If the Turks were confident that we would not attack the Islands after they had officially taken possession, the initial garrison might consist of a small token force. This could be found from coastal garrisons in the area and quickly transported in small craft available locally.
