These would in proportion to their intensity hamper German operations on the Russian front and so do something to relieve the pressure on Russia. The Russian attitude will, however, depend upon the uses to which the Polish subversive forces are put and the general state of relations between the Soviet and Polish Governments. Your Para. 1.A(ii) If the equipping on a large scale of a secret army was undertaken without the prior knowledge of the Russians, they would certainly suspect that this weapon would at some stage be used against them, and would therefore strongly object.
