7. Distribution of the Japanese Air Force, winter 1945/46. In view of the conditions predicted, we might expect the 1,700 shore-based aircraft of the Japanese Air Force to be distributed as follows:Japan, Formosa and Kuriles 400 Manchuria 200 China 100 Burma, Siam and Indo-China 200 Philippines 300 N.E.I. 300 Bismarck and Eastern New Guinea 200 1700 8. Capacity to reinforce Burma, winter 1945/46. (i) In view of conditions (c) and (d) the Japanese could not bring carrier-borne aircraft to bear against Allied forces in Burma.
