By concentrating some 10 Divisions with Hungarian and Bulgarian support she might hope to protect railway TriesteSalonika and Serbian mineral areas against patriot action. 2. This would leave 7 Divisions available for defence of Greece of which equivalent of 2 committed in Crete and Aegeans. While still holding Crete Germany would appreciate that Allied invasion of Greek mainland or Peloponnese from East most hazardous but would still have to take precautionary defensive measures these areas.
