(11) Air opposition. It is estimated that during the approach 60 aircraft, disposed at Port Blair airfield and Port Blair seaplane alighting area, would operate during the approach, and that during the final stage of the approach and during the assault a further 60 aircraft would operate from Southern Burma airfields . It is estimated that during the approach the aircraft operating from Port Blair could put up an emergency effort of 50 sorties daily for two days and that, during the day of the last stage of the approach and the assault, the additional aircraft operating from the mainland could put up a one day scale of effort of 50 sorties.
