Allied Strengths in the Pacific. Note by Secretary

After a short discussion with Directors of Plans, THE COMMITTEE:(a) Instructed the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee to prepare an appreciation of the scale of the Japanese effort in the Pacific with particular reference to the limitations imposed by shipping. (b) Instructed the Joint Planning Staff, with the J.I.C. appreciation as a background, to prepare in the form of an aide memoire for use in the forthcoming discussions with Dr. Evatt, an appreciation of the forces that would be required in the Pacific to implement strategy agreed at Casablanca.
