OIL PRODUCTION IN 1942 From 1936 to the end of 1941, production has steadily declined. The downward trend of the production curve is shown in the following graph: Gross Crude Oil Production In millions of tons Published figures in the 'Moniteur' and elsewhere show oil production in 1941 as 5,458,000 tons. During the first half of that year production was reported in detail as 2,600,000 tons; thus, production during the last six months appears to have been about 2,860,000 tons or 16,000 tons per day.
