Bigot Procedure. Note by Secretary

1 Mar 1943

ANNEX 'B' BIGOT Some misunderstanding appears to have arisen in certain quarters over the interpretation of the code word BIGOT. This has been perhaps partly due to the word having been brought into use for the current operation in North West Africa and, in consequence, the impression has gained ground that the code word is restricted to this operation. 2. This is not the case. The code word continues to be operative, when so deemed necessary, by the originator of any document dealing with MOST SECRET operational matters.
