J.P.(43) 147 (0) Draft APPENDIX I ALTERNATIVE OPERATIONS POSSIBLE FOR FIELD MARSHAL WAVELL TO CARRY OUT IN 1943/44. In accordance with our instructions we have examined the operations which Field Marshal Wavell's anticipated resources would permit him to undertake under the following assumptions:(a) Circumstances make it necessary to cancel Operation ANAKIM; (b) A second operation in the Mediterranean is undertaken; (c) The Overseas Assault Force does not proceed to India; (d) The present approved reinforcement programmes for India are adhered to, but the additional shipping now required by Field Marshal Wavell is not allocated.
