Air Forces 6. The German air forces might be disposed as follows:southern France and Northern Italy 350 Balkans, Greece and Crete 350 Total: 700 It is impossible to say how these forces would be distributed between the various countries. Possible Lines of Defence 7. There are two possible lines of defence which the Germans might hold during the stages of their progressive withdrawal (i) A line roughly north-east and south-west through Mount Olympus. (ii) A line roughly Albanian coast, near Valona Lake Ochrida Ghevghili Salonika.
