A N N E X The Director of Prisoners of War is somewhat concerned as to the possibility of Italian Labour camps in this country being bombed by the German Air Force. At the same time he is not satisfied with the present state of our information about the location of British P/W Camps in Italy and he considers that, in view of the intensified bombing offensive and the possibility of invading Italy, it is important that this information should be complete. 2. He has suggested that we should furnish to the German Government, either through the Protecting Power or the International Red Cross, a location list of all P/W Camps in this country and that, having done this, we should use our action as a lever to extract from the Italian Government any information we might require about British P/W Camps in Italy.
