The Black Africa Legion. Note by Secretary

order to give to the French West Africans a means of enabling the population of the A.O.F. to express its loyalty to the Petain regime. The existence and statutes of the Legion were confirmed in a Decree promulgated on 24th December at Dakar where the Legion has its Federal Headquarters. M. Boisson himself is President of the Legion which boasts of 27,000 members (of which 17,000 are natives). It is particularly strong in Senegal, Guinea and the Ivory Coast but less powerful in Togoland Dahomey, the Soudan and the Niger.
