MOST SECRET LOCAL RAIDS AGAINST THE BRITISH ISLES. (Joint Admiralty, War Office, Air Ministry and Home Forces Appreciation) The Home Defence Committee at its 9th Meeting held on 24th August, 1942 had under consideration a paper by the Air Ministry and the Ministry of Home Security on machinery for counter action against raids. It was agreed, inter alia, "to invite the Air Ministry to consult with the Admiralty, the War Office and Hoe Forces on the various types of raid and the probability of their being launched with the object of preparing an agreed appreciation."
