A N N E X From:Britman Washington To:Air Ministry FENDER 25 10/8/42 C.I.C. paper* on German capabilities against Syria of which text enclosed with Berkeley's letter of 29 April to Capel-Dunn (see also letter of 20 May and enclosureø) has been revised. Following points alone seem to require your concurrence:1. U.S. hold that scale of attack to capture Cyprus and invade Syria preparatory to move in strength on Persian Gulf would require force of from four to six divisions.
