Interrogation of Individuals for Special Purposes. Note by the Secretary

1 Mar 1942

3. From a security aspect it is desirable that interviews of this type should not arouse suspicion; questionnaires should be carefully prepared so as not to arouse particular interest in the country concerned. It is also desirable that any individual should be interviewed only once. 4. The Joint Planning staff, to whom I have referred the case, do not consider that I.S.(0) should be asked to take on these interrogations. I.S.(0) are fully occupied on the supply of topographical information, etc. to Commanders and Planners.
