ANNEX S E C R E T. C.O.S.(42) 109. 16TH FEBRUARY, 1942. WAR CABINET. CHIEFS OF STAFF COMMITTEE. A.D.G.B. SCALES OF ATTACK AND DEFENCE. Note by Secretary. At a meeting of the Defence Committee (Supply)+ on the 12th February, the Committee, subject to the concurrence of the Minister of Defence:(i) Invited the Chiefs of Staff to assess the danger of air attack on the United Kingdom during 1942, with particular reference to the possibility of low flying attack in daylight against our centres of production and ports, and to report whether the Air Defences of Great Britain would be sufficiently strong throughout the year to afford reasonable security, or whether an increase in guns and fighters would be required.
