ANNEX. THE RELEASE OF ENEMY PRISONERS OF WAR FOR SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT. Memorandum by the Director of Military Intelligence. 1. At the request of P.W.E., F.O. and with the approval of the Finance Member, D.P.W. and D.N.I., I have recently arranged for the release from custody of one German Naval Officer P/W and one German Naval Rating P/W. These two will be housed in the country by P.W.E., F.O. Officially they will remain P/W and all arrangements regarding pay, correspondence, etc. will be carried out as though they were at a War Office camp.
