Increase in the Establishment of Combined Intelligence Centre. Iraq. Note by Secretary

1 Oct 1941

If these proposals are approved, all personnel can be found in the Middle East except for the Intelligence Officers for censorship, at Mosul and Teheran. One Intelligence Officer for tribal and political work will also have to be found. The relations of A.L.Os. with political advisors and Consuls, and of the head of C.I.C.I. with His Majesty's Legation in Teheran will be on the same basis as in Iraq, where the present arrangements are working well. This proposal has, as was indicated above, been discussed with the External Affairs Department of the Government of India and DIB and has received their approval as well as that of A.O.C.-in-C., Middle East, and His Majesty's Minister, Teheran.
