Rumours of a Military Nature Intended to Mystify and Mislead the Enemy. Note by the Secretary

1 Oct 1941

D. GERMANY (contd.) 3. (1899) 4. (1917) 5. (1918) ITALY. 1. (1900) 2. (1902) 3. (1903) FRANCE. 1. (1904) The British and Americans have given up building submarines over 100 tons. German losses over last year have definitely proved that the long range submarine is as much out of date as the biplane. The German High Command has been compelled to modify its plans for resting troops from the Russian front. The reason is that many men belonging to regiments which have suffered most severely are accused of swearing that they will never go East again.
