ANNEX 1646A/25th October To: C.O.I.S. Singapore Date: 25/10/41 Naval Cypher (One Time Table) From D.N.I. Have any steps been taken to train Officers in methods of interrogation of prisoners and to establish a Combined Services detailed interrogation centre in the Far East. Prior to hostilities against Italy officers were trained in U.K. but lack of suitable Naval Officer Japanese Interpreters makes this difficult. If nothing has been done in Far East this matter will be discussed with other Services in London.
