The congestion is due to the fact that so many transports are sunk. 7. A young Austrian soldier who had been detailed to sail to Libya sought sanctuary in the Duomo at Naples. Two Gestapo men shot him on the high alter. 8. 300 German soldier, but no Italian, were saved from a troopship which was torpedoed off the island of Djerba last week.
