A German Outline Plan for an Attack on Sweden. Note by the Secretary

1 Aug 1941

There are at present 7 German divisions in Norway, These will be required to keep the Norwegian population subdued, for an increase of sabotage and subversive activities would be inevitable. Valuable assistance is likely to be forthcoming from the Fifth Column. GERMAN OUTLINE PLAN. 2. (a) 2 divisions will be moved through Oslo to reinforce the existing Trondheim garrison to hold the lines of approach from Sweden and to be available for an advance when necessary towards Ostersund. (b) A force of approximately 3 divisions will be moved to Oslo to develop the main thrust due eastwards to Stockholm, so as to outflank the Swedish "lake line" and to overrun the main industrial area.
