Rumours of a Military Nature Intended to Mystify and Mislead the Enemy. Note by the Secretary

1 Aug 1941

Serial No. Suggestions. Submitted by Remarks by I.S.S.B. 9. Two German U-boats were sunk last week because the Luftwaffe Reconnaissance wrongly reported a convoy as being unescorted. 10. On Goering's instructions all available champagne is supplied to the Luftwaffe and not to the Navy. 11. I suppose the commander of the Greer had instructions to chase the U-boat. Hitherto they have let submarines fire wide at them and come up and surrender. There are five U-boat crews secretly interned near Miami.
