4. If this is correct, then the enemy would have to fight to enter Persian territory, either from the land frontier of the Caucasus or from the Caspian Sea. The means of entry would not all be simultaneously available. The following would be the probable stages: (a) Firstly a land attack from Julfa on Khoi and Tabriz. This would open up the possibility of the following movements:(i) Half a division (rising later to one division) by the bad road through Khoi on Ruwandiz; (ii) Half a division (rising later to one division) by the bad road from Tabriz to Saqqiz and thence either to Kirkuk or Sinneh.
