German Invasion of the British Isles. Note by the Secretary

1 Aug 1941

In discussing the recommendations made by the Director of Combined Operations the Commander-in-Chief, Home Forces stated that a further detailed reconnaissance had recently been made of beaches, and their approaches, and a report was nearing completion. The most vulnerable beaches had been photographed and a schedule of exits and likely concentration areas had been drawn up in consultation with Bomber Command, to whom considerable targets had already been allotted. The Chiefs of Staff: "Instructed the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee to take into account the opinions expressed in these memoranda in their next review of the invasion situation." 5.
