I have not seen the President of the Republic since the audience reported in my telegram No.833 of 12th April. I think it would be useful, in present circumstances, if I could now obtain an opportunity for a general conversation with him and I propose to ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs if the President would receive me, not in audience, but privately for this purpose.
