3. So far the requirements of the Middle East and the Far East have not yet been met. The review of these requirements, now being undertaken, will undoubtedly show them to be considerable. 4. From a detailed study of the various requirements and factors affecting this problem we have come to the following conclusions:(i) The "long range" type of aircraft is essential for future requirements. A percentage of short-range aircraft will also be required for the nearer targets. (ii) On Alert No.1 we shall require a considerably increased scale of effort.
