Prisoners of War-Exchange of Information on Casualties. Note by Secy.

1 Apr 1941

ANNEX. PRISONERS OF WAR EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION ON CASUALTIES. Memorandum by the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Intelligence). Mr. Hunter, a delegate of the International Red Cross Committee in this country who is particularly concerned with exchange of information on casualties, has enquired whether additional information regarding German Air Force air-crews made prisoners of war or fatal casualties can be supplied for transmission to Germany. The following amendments of the present procedure are suggested:(a) That the Prisoners of War Information Bureau may notify the International Red Cross Committee at Geneva of prisoners and dead grouped together in aircraft crews, instead of separately, stating also the type of aircraft in which they crashed.
