ANNEX. MEMORANDUM BY THE DIRECTOR OF MILITARY INTELLIGENCE. It will be remembered that in order to prevent the leakage of secret information steps have been taken to warn Government Officials of their responsibilities under the Official Secrets Acts. King's Regulations contain the necessary measures to ensure that publications from personnel of the Army have the prior approval of higher authority. Nevertheless an example of how this type of leakage can occur is the publication of 'Diary of a Staff Officer' which was 'passed' from the Censorship aspect last August by the Service Advisors on the staff of the Director of Public Relations, War Office.
