(e) The only parts of the coast suitable for beach landings are: The North Coast. The Northern half of the East Coast. The REYKJAVIK area from AKRANES to east of GRINDAVIK. (f) Roads are few and generally close to the coast. The majority are only open from July to October. (g) The nights are rapidly getting shorter and are practically 'white' from the end of April to mid-August. Surprise, by the use of darkness, will therefore become increasingly difficult. 3. POLITICAL FACTORS. A German occupation of ICELAND would have a considerable effect on opinion in the U.S.A.
