enquiry is being made as to the service or services to which the German officers belong. There are several possibilities:1. The mission may be intended to procure the permanent disarmament of French North Africa. There is evidence that the French in North Africa have concealed considerable quantities of war materials, and it is known that as late as last December part of the 6,000 tons of 87 and 92 octane aviation petrol held in French Morocco had not yet been declared to the Italian Armistice Commission.
