Special Service Troops - Security. Note by Secy.

1 Jan 1941

MOST SECRET. DRAFT MINUTE TO THE SECRETARY, JOINT PLANNING STAFF. You will remember that at the Joint Meeting of the Directors of Plans and the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee held on 27th January, 1941, my Directors drew the attention of the Directors of Plans to the danger to security of the present organisation and control by the Director of Combined Operations and his staff of certain combined operations. No record of the discussion appears in the Minutes. Experience since the date of that Meeting has reinforced the opinion then expressed by the J.I.C., that the risk to the security of the operations in question is such that the organisation and control of security measures relating to all combined operations should revert to the Service Departments.
