I.S.S.B. Charter. Memo by Inter-Services Security Board

1940

Admiralty representative, our concern with security should end there. On the other hand, the majority consider that in the light of actual experience, the Board is a useful piece of liaison machinery, or clearing house, for disposing expeditiously of more general security questions affecting more than one Service. They consider that undue extension of the Board's activities is safeguarded by the fact that, in general security matters, the Board acts only in an advisory capacity. 3. In the circumstances, the suggested amendments to the Charter are submitted for the consideration of the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee.
