Dodecanese. Memo. By Ministry of Economic Warfare

1 Jul 1940

Up till the outbreak of the Italo-Greek war these were being carried in small Greek, Turkish and Italian ships. We have persuaded the Turkish Government to prohibit the carriage of goods to the Dodecanese in their own ships; since Italy attacked Greece, Greek ships appear, as one would expect, to have left the trade; there therefore remain only the Italian ships.
