Intelligence. Report by J.I.C.

1 Jul 1940

Such activities were largely confined to France, Germany and Italy. Service Attache's were each responsible for several countries, and this made the collection of adequate topographical intelligence on their part a matter of impossibility. The activities of the S.I.S. were also severely restricted. 12. During the present war every effort has been made to ensure that as complete information as possible is readily available for the use of the service planning staffs, and for Commanders. With this end in view the Intelligence Directorates have been guided where necessary by the orders of priority issued by the Joint Planning Staff.
