3. SUPPLIES. (a) Military Supplies. There is no definite information as to the quantity of military supplies in the area but it is considered that these are unlikely to be large. (b) Petrol. The supplies of petrol suitable for aviation are very low. 4. CIVIL AIR BASES. A note on Civil Air Bases in the area appears at Annex B. 5. POLITICAL CONSIDERATIONS. It was recently reported that the local Governor expected the area to be occupied by Britain or the United States immediately there is a sign of Portugal becoming involved in the war and did not seem disturbed by this.
