ANNEX A. Suggestions by the War Office for Propaganda in Enemy Countries. 1. It is evident from P/W conversations that most of them have a very real fear of being transferred to camps in Canada. This is understandable, for not only are they frightened of being torpedoed en route but they have a real dread of being so far from the homeland. Rather like the Welsh they hate being away from their native town or village, and great distances inspire them with awe and nervousness. Even before the war the Germans were up against this difficulty in transferring labour from one part of the country to another.
