Anglo-American Standardisation of Arms Committee. Memorandum by the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee

1 Jul 1940

All responsibility as to any pronouncement with regard to the visit of Officers would rest entirely with the United States Embassy. 6. We are in entire agreement with Colonel Lee's suggestions. 7. As regards secrecy of documents we consider that the present titling of documents namely "AngloAmerican Standardisation of Arms Committee" should stand, but it would be better that envelopes containing papers in connection with this matter should be franked with the code word "Buffalo ". This word would also serve as a handy code word for use over the telephone.
