1 May 1940

8. Owing to the distances involved and the lack of fuel en route, the transport of troops or stores by air in any numbers from North Africa to the West African colonies is not practicable. 9. The scales of attack on French and British West African Colonies from North Africa are, therefore, limited to small raiding parties. (signed) J.H. GODFREY. F.G. BEAUMONT NESBITT. A.R. BOYLE.
