"Inspired Rumours". Memo. By Inter-Services Security Board Covering Memo. By Mr. Ronald Turnbull, Former Press Attache to H.M. Legation, Copenhagen

1 May 1940

5. The Inter-Services Security Board therefore feel that they should be fully informed of what the Leitmotif of our propaganda policy is, and also would wish to be kept advised of what is taking place in the Ministry of Information and the C.-S. organisation, so that they may co-ordinate their rumour policy accordingly, and possibly render advice, and submit their suggestions for the consideration of the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee. In effect, the Board consider that, to enable them usefully to advise, they should be included within the existing machinery which could be effected by their representation on the co-ordinating Committee which, it is understood, meets under the auspices of the Ministry of Information.
