6. Local tribal opposition would be negligible. Once landing had been effected there are no obstacles other than the minor difficulties of terrain to an Italian occupation of the south-west corner of Arabia, or to their subsequent advance to Aden. 7. There are no indications at present of any Italian preparations for such an expedition. In view of the possibilities open to the Italians, however, and the strength of the Aden garrison, it would seem desirable that there should be a small reserve in the neighbourhood of Aden itself at the disposal of the Commander-in-Chief, Middle East.
