Home Defence Inter-Service Intelligence Section. Note by Director of Military Intelligence

1 May 1940

6. The supply of information from the Service Ministries direct to G.H.Q., Home Forces would cease, and presumably there would no longer be any need for the special Joint Intelligence InterService Sub-Committee on warning of invasion. 7. Continuous duty at the Central War Room would be involved, and the Inter-Service section would have to be organized in four reliefs. Adequate clerical staff would be required. 8. The Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee is asked to consider this proposal and the steps necessary and the instructions required to put it into effect.
