Middle East. Intelligence. Note by the Director of Military Intelligence, War Office, Recommending Continuation of M.E.I.C. In its Present form Until Alteration Proved Necessary

1 Jan 1940

(f) As far as can now be foreseen M.E.I.C. in its present form will be required after the War. (g) The Security and Propaganda section of G.H.Q. are dependent on collated intelligence provided by M.E.I.C. (h) As yet the full number of officers required for G.H.Q. have not been provided and the G.H.Q. system is not yet in full working order. The organization as a whole, in the Middle East has not had sufficient trial. It is therefore recommended that no alterations in M.E.I.C. should take place until the situation changes or until practical experience proves such alteration to be necessary.
