ANNEX. Minute dated 28th September, 1939., from the Minister for Co-ordination of Defence to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee. I forward a letter addressed to me by Lord Hankey suggesting that certain measures be taken in the event of Germany overrunning Holland or Belgium or both. I am aware that this important matter is already engaging your Committee's attention. However Lord Hankey's letter and suggestions are entirely in accord with my own ideas and I should be glad if they could be enquired into and action advised.
